By Public Transportation
At the airport, you can take two railway lines: Cheap, but slow standard railway (“S-Bahn”) to the station Wien Mitte, or the more expensive but faster City Airport Train, which also takes you to the station Wien Mitte. At Wien Mitte, take the subway line U4 to Karlsplatz, which is the largest Underground station in Wien and close to the university.
Alternatively, at the airport you may also take the shuttle bus (Vienna Airport Lines) to Morzinplatz/Schwedenplatz. From there take the subway lines U1 or U4 to Karlsplatz.
By Car
If you prefer to take the car to the city center, the fastest way to reach the conference venue is via A4: -
When you leave the airport, follow the signs for “A4/Wien” and merge onto the highway.
- Turn to the right lane when you reach the interchange Knoten Prater and follow the signs for “Graz/A2/St.Marx/Slovenien/Deutschland”.
- After, keep to the right and merge onto A23. Keep going for approximately 1,6km and then take the exit “Gürtel/Landstraße” towards “Landstr. Hptstrt./B221/Gürtel”.
- Keep left and continue onto “1/B221”.The road will eventually turn into Landstraßer Gürtel. Follow it for approximately 1,3km.
- Turn right at Prinz Eugen-Straße and keep going until you reach an intersection with a big white building with a Turkish flag.
- Turn left onto Theresianumgasse.
- After, turn right onto Favoritenstraße and keep left to continue on the same road. Favoritenstraße will eventually turn slightly right and become “Wiedner Hauptstraße”.
- Follow the one-way street to the “Operngasse” Friedrichstraße, where you will find the underground car park just below the green building (“TU Tiefgarage”), which is the Freihaus building.
By Taxi Another option to get to Vienna University of Technology is by taking a taxi. There are three taxi companies in Vienna: Taxi 60 160 - Telf: +43 1 60 160 Taxi 40 100 - Telf: +43 1 40 100 Taxi 31 300 – Telf: +43 1 31 300 In order to book a ride, you can either call the respective company, visit the website or use the phone app (free at the iTunes Store and at the Google Play Store). To get to the university, you can ask the driver to take you to “Operngasse”, in front of the Freihaus building. Alternatively, the driver can leave you in "Resselgasse”, which is a side entry to the Vienna University of Technology's main building. From the City Center: From the city center you can reach Vienna University of Technology by using the Subway (U-Bahn) lines U1, U2 and U4 or the local Tram (StraBenbahn) lines 1 and 62. Stop at Karlsplatz station and take the exit “Resselpark”, then walk about 2 minutes to the conference venue. Alternatively, you can go by car or take a taxi.
