Special Session on
Kinesiology in Sport and Medicine: from Biomechanics to Sociodynamics
 - K-BioS 2019

20 - 21 September, 2019 - Vienna, Austria

Within the 7th International Conference on Sport Sciences Research and Technology Support - icSPORTS 2019

CHAIR

Igor Gruic
University of Zagreb
Croatia

Brief Bio
Igor Gruic has a Ph.D. in Social Sciences, Kinesiology, at the Faculty of Kinesiology, Zagreb. In 2009, he did an Advanced Master in European Studies at the Faculty of Political Sciences. He’s currently an Assistant Professor and Higher Science Assistant at the Faculty of Kinesiology of the University of Zagreb, as well as a lecturer at the School of Medicine and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing from the same university. His research is mostly linked with anthropology, biomechanics and motor control&learning, sociology, cybernetics, XR (VR, AR, MR), sport (team handball) and in general within kinesiology in social sciences, biomedical engineering and interdisciplinary field.

SCOPE

Symposia is intended to cover areas of and methodology for measurement & analysis of human locomotion, within 1) classical biomechanics and motor control & learning (in all levels of hierarchy of information processing and motor controlling circuits – CNS, neuro-muscular-skeletal...), and 2) trends in biotechnology, ICT and applied cybernetics influencing sociodynamics of sportive & medical engagements (Cyber-Physical Systems, Internet of Things-IoT, Internet of Services-IoS, epidemiology, notational analysis, psychometrics, big data, etc.)
We expect that greatest benefits of sharing invited, selected & presented findings would arise from multilayer & interdisciplinary transfer & exchange of knowledge about liminal values in sport performance (which implies supra-summed outcomes of all linked elements in movement patterns), and medical aspects of human locomotion (which implies compensation of weakest elements of healthy movement patterns), converged into ordinarily represented health.

TOPICS

  • Mathematical modelling in sport and medicine
  • Multisensory systems and locomotion
  • Neuromechanics
  • Neuromuscular biomechanical diagnostics
  • Kinanthropology and health
  • Core and peripheral elements of performance in sport and medicine
  • Robotics and automation
  • Cyber-physical systems
  • Sociocybernetics
