Brief Bio
Received his PhD in Physical Therapy and Motor Rehabilitation in 1989 at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (BE) where he was a research associate at the Department of Anatomy. Associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (BE) in 1992. Invited professor at the University of Lisbon, Faculty of Human Kinetics (PT) from 1996 to 2009. Professor at the Department of Physical Performance, Norwegian School of Sport Sciences (NO) from 2009 to 2019. Presently director of research at the Luxembourg Institute for Orthopedics, Sports Medicine and Science (LIROMS). Research interest in applied (sport
s) biomechanics and kinesiological electromyography. Secretary of the Scientific Board of the European College of Sports Sciences (ECSS). Section editor in the European Journal of Sport Science

Pedro Pezarat-Correia (https://www.cienciavitae.pt//pt/0C14-4B25-1888) currently is Associated Professor of the Universidade de Lisboa where he is the director of the Neuromuscular Research Lab and teaches the disciplines of Anatomy and Physiology, Kinesiology, and Neuromuscular Function. He is the (co-) author of more than 60 peer reviewed international publications, books (26) and book chapters (20). Research topics: electromyography, neuromuscular function, muscle coordination, strength training.

João Paulo Vilas-Boas is a Full Professor of Biomechanics at Porto University, Faculty of Sport. He leads the Porto Biomechanics Laboratory of the University of Porto (LABIOMEP-UP). Currently serves also as President of the International Council Biomechanics and Medicine in Swimming (IcBMS). Vilas-Boas is a member of the Scientific Commission of three Doctoral Programs at the University of Porto: Sport Sciences, Physiotherapy and Occupational Security and Health. He was a former Olympic swimming coach and currently a board member of the Olympic Committee of Portugal. His research interests are in Biomechanics, Bi
